Being one of the most reliable car brands, Toyota attracts significant attention worldwide. Toyota occasionally makes headlines in countries due to vehicle recalls. Users take the feedback provided by Toyota into consideration. More than 32,000 Toyota owners wondered why their vehicles were being recalled. Meanwhile, the company had previously made headlines for recalling vehicles in Canada. Drivers of Toyota in Canada, be careful!

Toyota issues a new recall for 32,000 more cars in Canada. Here is the reason. Roughly 32,000 Toyota vehicles are being recalled in Canada over problems with the rear-view display which is a defect that the company and regulators say may increase crash risk.

The move comes after Toyota recalled 70,000 vehicles in September for similar display problems. In a statement, Transport Canada noted that Canadian regulations mandate the rearview image to appear when a vehicle is backing up.

This Problem The Risk of An Accident

Transport Canada and Toyota Canada both stated that this problem could heighten the risk of an accident involving a person behind the vehicle. The affected vehicles include Toyota SUVs and pickups with 14-inch multimedia displays, which will be repaired through a complimentary software update, the company said.

The automaker said in a statement that a software glitch in the center display of affected vehicles can sometimes cause visual distortion, resulting in a “half green, full green, or completely black” screen.

Toyota Sequoia Models Are Affected by The Recall

The recall affects Toyota Sequoia models from 2023 to 2025, along with Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid models from 2022 to 2025.

Toyota says affected owners will receive written notification by late November 2025 and will be instructed to bring their vehicles to a dealership for the software update.

The automaker previously recalled over 70,000 vehicles in Canada last month for software issues involving the instrument cluster in more than a dozen models.
